6 Week AMAW Intro Complete

I have been really behind in blogging. I am still getting used to learning the ropes in running websites, so I apologize

I wanted to update you with my experience with AMAW.  I knew this was where I was supposed to be and I was really quite nervous before starting. It had been a while since I was surrounded in an acting class setting and I had no idea what I was going to be facing. I remember taking Anthony's workshop in NYC for a few days back in 2011, and that was an eye opening experience. I could only imagine how a 6 week intro course would be.

I absolutely LOVED everyone in this class. They were all so open and ready to dive in and I remember why I loved being in this environment.  Our teacher, Mario, was just phenomenal. I felt like we had known each other for years, because he could see right through us and figure us out, which was bat shit crazy! I loved how he had pushed me to learn how to just BE in the space. 

I realized I am just naturally awkward and surprisingly, the emotional availability was there for me, but just trusting ME and that I was enough is where I need to work on.

These 6 weeks have really put me back in touch with my passion and why I have always wanted to act. But, I am learning it in all new ways. It is not to escape me. I can't escape me. It is about FINDING MYSELF in all of these characters and BRINGING ME into these given circumstances and being real. I know I have a ways to go but I am excited to see where this workshop will take me.

I also really enjoyed getting to witness all the breakthroughs of my classmates as we came back each week. I really learned from watching them and it was just amazing to watch.

Now, we have 2 more classes with these wonderful people which I am so very thankful for.  I go back this Thursday and I am hoping that I will get more opportunities to work with these amazing people as we move up in classes.

But, for now, the spark is reignited, and I am ready to hit LA full on and get some work.
